Chateau La Connivence is as a story of friendship. The trio behind this narrative includes Johan Micoud, a former international footballer, Arnaud Witrand, a French entrepreneur, and Alexandre de Malet Roquefort, the proprietor of Chateau La Gaffelière. Sprawling across 1.13 hectares, this microcru boasts a terroir enriched with clay and stones.
In the hands of Alexandre from Chateau La Gaffelière, the vinification process takes place in petite thermoregulating cuves, followed by an aging period of 12 to 18 months in pristine new oak barrels. To elevate the experience further, a second wine, La Belle Connivence, is crafted, aiming to elevate the primary offering to extraordinary heights. The annual production of the first wine is a mere 2,500 bottles, with a scant few cases of 6 available.
Alexandre's winemaking philosophy revolves around core values such as balance and flavor, coupled with a quest for depth and velvety textures—hallmarks reminiscent of the finest Pomerol wines.
