Productinformation

Originating from an exceptional old parcel planted in 1947 within the prestigious Grand Cru vineyard Charmes in Gevrey-Chambertin. The vineyard lies on a broad slope with a complex subsoil of hard rock, limestone, and clay, covered by a thin layer (approximately 10 cm) of red alluvial soil and gravel. Fossils are particularly abundant here and contribute to the wine’s pronounced mineral character.

The grapes are grown with great respect for nature and terroir, following integrated and biodynamically inspired practices, including green harvesting and manual picking. In the cellar, careful vinification is carried out, featuring a cold pre-fermentation maceration and a maceration period of around fifteen days, adjusted to the character of the vintage. The wine is then aged for 14 to 16 months in oak barrels, 40 to 50% of which are new.

In the glass, the wine reveals an impressive combination of power and finesse. Ripe aromas of cherry and morello cherry are elegantly supported by spices, floral notes of violet and rose, and a subtle hint of liquorice. The structure is deep, intense, and silky, with an alluring texture and remarkable length.

A wine with excellent ageing potential of 10 to 20 years or more, already charming in its youth and destined to gain further complexity over time.
