Productinformation
Charmes is located in the south of Meursault, directly bordering Puligny-Montrachet, and is one of the most renowned and highly regarded Premier Cru vineyards of Meursault.
The vineyard lies on a gentle slope with an east to south-eastern orientation. The soils consist of chalky clay and limestone, contributing to the classic structure and finesse of Charmes. With a higher proportion of clay than in sites such as Perrières, wines from Charmes are generally more expressive and generous, offering greater volume and roundness.
Bellang applies traditional vinification in oak barrels to preserve texture and complexity. The wine is then aged in barrel (typically 10–18 months depending on the vintage) to enhance length, depth, and balance.
This results in aromas of citrus, white flowers, hazelnut, and brioche, delivering a classic Burgundian character. The wine is rich and rounded with lively acidity, refined minerality, and a long, balanced finish marked by finesse and depth — a fine expression of the Charmes terroir in Meursault.
