The 5.91-hectare Premier Cru plot lies near the northeastern edge of the village. It is separated from the Beaune border only by the narrow strip of Les Saussilles.
The soils are composed of stony white marl, similar in composition to those of Epenots, though considerably deeper. Wines from Pézerolles are known for their finesse, in contrast to the more powerful and expressive wines of Epenots.
