The forgotten Premier Cru!
It’s not the location’s fault. Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Didiers is situated in the northern part of Prémeaux-Prissey, just north of Les Forêts and just south of the famous Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Saint-Georges.
The 2.4-hectare vineyard is a monopole of the charitable organization Hospices de Nuits, which dates back to the 13th century. The wine is auctioned annually and then bottled by the buyer, who oversees its maturation.
Because the wine is purchased each year by a different producer, the vineyard – despite being located right next to Les Saint-Georges – struggles to build a lasting reputation.
