Productinformation
This Macon Milly-Lamartine is made from plots in the towns of Berzé La Ville and Milly-Lamartine. In Berzé, the plot is 1.5ha, is 375-400m above sea level with a slope of 25-30% with southwest orientation, the vines are 15 years old. In Milly, the plot is 1ha, is 300m above sea level and has a slope of 15-20%, the vines between 20-30 years old. In both plots, the soil is clay-limestone.
The grapes are harvested by machine at different times because the grapes from Berzé and Milly and ripen differently. They are therefore harvested and vinified separately. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of +/-18°C. Wild native yeasts are used for this and the MLF is spontaneous and complete. The wine matures for 6 months in tank on the lees (lie) without racking or batonnage. The wine is assembled and bottled in the spring after harvest.
This results in a bright pale yellow wine with lively aromas dominated by notes of lemon, grapefruit, Granny Smith and a touch of white flowers. It is light and dynamic, with a surprisingly crisp finish.
Drink this wine 3 years after bottling (and that's no punishment)
