This is one of the estate's showpieces and if there were a Grand Cru in Nuits-Saint-Georges, it would undoubtedly be the Saint-Georges.
Thibault's ample 2ha cover more than a quarter of the beautiful appellation. ‘Les Saint-Georges’ is located in the southern part of the appellation. Wine has been grown here since the year 1000, although Thibault's vines come from 1944.
These are planted on deep, very stony, brown limestone soil. For vinification, 40% whole cluster is used, and ageing takes place in 50% new oak for 22 months.
The result is a rich, lush wine with a fine tannic structure. Fruit and spice aromas mingle with earthy flavours. This is one of the estate's wines with the best storage potential, often over 10 or 15 years depending on the vintage.
