With the Nuits-Saint-Georges, La Charmotte 2019, Domaine Thibault-Liger Belair has proven its commitment to making excellent Burgundy wines. Owned by the Liger-Belair family since 1720, this domain has a rich history of 250 years. In 2001, Thibault joined the company and took over the vineyards, transforming the domain into the renowned Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair. Before that, Thibault studied vinification and oenology in the Beaujolais at the Moulin a Ven. He also worked for a communications company in Paris. In 2001, Thibault decided to follow his true vocation and start making his own wine.
This 0.4-hectare plot was planted in 1962, on the edge of the 1er Crus of Aux Argilats and Les Bousselots, in the northern part of the appellation. Its name perfectly describes its character: The charm of Vosne-Romanée with the structure of Nuits-Saint-Georges. The soil consists of clay in the first 40-50 cm above a range of limestone and parent rock. 100% Pinot Noir.
