Productinformation
Vincent Durrieu is the fifth generation of the family to work the estate and continue the very traditional Burgundian methods. And it is a noble tradition. Domaine Potinet-Ampeau is one of the few domains that makes wine to age and keeps its vintages in its own cellars to allow them to age properly before release.
Volnay is often compared to the muscular Pinot Noirs from neighbouring Pommard, but produces supple, perfumed wines with surprising longevity - the archetypal "iron fist in a velvet glove". The appellation's wines are often described as Burgundy's most supple and structured reds, in contrast to their more powerful and structured neighbours such as Pommard.
