Productinformation

From the prestigious Grand Cru vineyard Les Bonnes-Mares in Chambolle-Musigny, this wine is produced exclusively from 100% Pinot Noir, sourced from vines averaging around 60 years of age. The vineyard lies on the border between Morey-Saint-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny, extending the renowned Clos de Tart, and is widely regarded as one of Burgundy’s most iconic terroirs.

Situated at approximately 260 metres above sea level, the vines are rooted in an exceptionally complex soil profile composed of clay-limestone, underpinned by a Bajocian limestone slab, interspersed with gravel, red alluvial soils and yellowish marls. This geological mosaic forms the foundation of the wine’s depth, power and finesse.

Vineyard management follows integrated pest management practices combined with non-certified biodynamic principles. After careful green harvesting, the grapes are hand-picked. Vinification begins with a cold pre-fermentation maceration, using either destemmed grapes or whole clusters, depending on the character of the vintage. Total vatting lasts approximately fifteen days.

The wine is then matured for 14 to 16 months in oak barrels, of which 40 to 50% are new, enhancing structure and complexity without overshadowing the expression of the terroir.

In the glass, this Bonnes-Mares reveals itself as a powerful and expressive wine with remarkable aromatic intensity. The texture is full-bodied and chewy, with a robust structure that can at times show a slightly wild edge, always balanced by roundness and elegance. The tannins are firm yet velvety, carrying aromas of red fruits, violet and subtle peppery notes. The result is an impressive harmony between structure and silky texture.
