The flagship of Domaine Comte Senard!
Clos des Meix is a vineyard in the Corton Grand Cru appellation, located in the Côte de Beaune subregion. This walled vineyard of 1.64 hectares is situated on the lower southern slopes of the Corton hill, just southwest of the village of Aloxe-Corton.
The vineyard is a 'monopole'—owned and managed by a single producer—in this case, Comte Senard. Since 2023, the vineyard has been certified organic. The grapes are hand-harvested, and where possible (depending on the vintage), whole clusters are used during vinification. The wine matures for 16 months in oak barrels, 40% of which are new.
Beautiful ruby color in its youth. A flattering, complex, and soft bouquet with aromas of fresh fruits. On the palate, a supple and velvety attack. A wine full of energy, well balanced, and elegant. The tannins are beautifully expressed in the long finish (with notes of licorice).
