Productinformation
This wine comes from Les Seuvrées in Gevrey-Chambertin, sourced from a small 0.25-hectare parcel planted in 1957and exclusively dedicated to 100% Pinot Noir. The vineyard lies on brown chalky soils, with marls covered by rocky scree and red alluvial deposits from the valley. This combination of gravels and marls gives the wine remarkable breadth, suppleness and elegance.
Vineyard management follows integrated pest management practices combined with non-certified biodynamic cultivation. After careful green harvesting, the grapes are hand-picked. Winemaking begins with a cold pre-fermentation maceration, using either destemmed grapes or whole clusters, depending on the character of the vintage. The vatting period lasts approximately fifteen days.
The wine is then matured for 12 to 14 months in oak barrels, with 30% new oak, enhancing structure and finesse while preserving the purity of the fruit. In the glass, this wine stands out as one of the silkiest and most elegant expressions of the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation. The nose is subtle and complex, revealing aromas of cherry, blackberry and liquorice. On the palate, the tannins are velvety, rich and generous, offering a beautifully long and aromatic finish.
