Productinformation

The IGP Viognier is made from 100% Viognier, sourced from several vineyard parcels in the lieu-dit Grange Basse, located just a few metres south of the Côte-Rôtie appellation boundary in the commune of Tupin-et-Semons. Planted in 2012, the vineyard sits on mineral-rich granite soils that give the wine its characteristic tension and freshness. All grapes are harvested by hand.

Following a gentle whole-bunch pressing, the must is fermented in 228-litre Rousseau French oak barriques at a controlled temperature of 15°C. To preserve the wine's vibrant freshness and pure fruit expression, no malolactic fermentation is carried out.

The wine is then aged on its fine lees for 8 to 10 months, gaining additional depth and a creamy texture while maintaining its elegance. The result is an expressive Viognier with aromas of ripe apricot, peach, white flowers and citrus, complemented by a subtle flinty minerality and a refined saline note. Combining vibrant freshness with aromatic intensity and a silky, generous palate, the wine perfectly reflects the distinctive style of Frédéric and Maxence Gallet.
