Lieu-dit La Brocarde. Very steep slopes, very old vines. 30% whole bunch, vilification in stainless steel. 24 months in 2-3 years old Saury Barriques 228l.
“La Brocarde is the ‘coup de coeur’ of the 2023 vintage. The wine was too exceptional to be blended into the ‘trio de brune’. The micas schist soils of lieu-dit la Brocarde are more decomposed than at côte Bodin. This sandy element, together with the south-east exposure brings a greater freshness and delicacy. We find balance between aromatic intensity and finesse. La Brocarde is generous, is herbal and spicy combined with fresh fruit and floral notes. The wine ends in a long savory finish. Though it’s the subtle hint of roses that adds an element of surprise. La Brocarde is a wine that seduces in it’s youth, but that is built for ageing.
