Productinformation
Seconde Nature is a characterful, zero-dosage Champagne sourced from carefully selected parcels in Chamery Premier Cru, situated in the Petite Montagne de Reims. The blend consists of 45% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 15% Meunier, with the 2022 harvest forming the base. The grapes come from vines averaging 30 years of age, planted in the lieux-dits Les Vigneules, Les Spectres and Les Caquerets. These southeast-facing vineyards are characterised by clay-limestone soils with a sandy subsoil rich in fossilised shells.
Only the finest fraction of the pressing is selected for this cuvée. Primary fermentation takes place in 400-litre oak barrels, using exclusively indigenous yeasts from the estate's own vineyards. The wine is vinified without the addition of sulphites and undergoes neither fining nor filtration. Following complete malolactic fermentation, it spends nine months ageing on its fine lees before bottling. With a dosage of 0 g/l, the character of the terroir remains fully expressed.
The result is an expressive, gastronomic Champagne in which ripe fruit and subtle spice are complemented by fresh citrus aromas and pronounced mineral tension. Pinot Noir provides structure and depth, while Chardonnay contributes precision and vibrancy. The finish is long, refined and delicately saline. A pure, energetic Champagne combining finesse with character.
