Productinformation
The grapes for this red village-level Puligny-Montrachet come from the well-known vineyard Noyer Bret. Which we know from Domaine Alvina Pernot, among others; she makes beautiful white wine on the vineyard adjacent to her backyard.
Domaine Joseph Pascal owns a small part (0.37ha) of this vineyard and thus makes fantastic reds. The vineyard is located northwest of the village of Puligny. The soil consists of clay and limestone and the vines are old (52 years).
The grapes are 100% destemmed and then undergo 6 days of cold maceration followed by a 15-day alcoholic fermentation. The wine matures for 11 months in oak barrels, 20% of which are new. 5 months before bottling, the wine is transferred to stainless steel tanks.
A precise nose with mostly raspberries and a bit of mint. On the palate lots of volume with nicely pronounced red fruit.
