When thinking of Santenay, white wines are probably not the first that come to mind. The location of the lieu-dit Champs Claude, however, tells a different story. Officially, this vineyard lies within the commune of Remigny, yet it belongs to the Santenay appellation and is situated directly—just a few metres—below the prestigious Premier Cru Morgeot in Chassagne-Montrachet.
The upper part of the vineyard is composed of reddish, iron-rich soils, while the lower section is characterised by brown clay. Numerous piles of limestone (murgers), gathered over generations during vineyard work, bear witness to the limestone-rich subsoil that defines this exceptional terroir.
The wine displays fresh aromas of citrus fruit and white flowers, supported by a subtle, creamy oak influence. It beautifully combines the elegance and minerality of its renowned neighbour with the distinctive character and generosity of Santenay.
