Productinformation
Domaine Joseph Pascal owns a small portion (0.54ha) of this well-known and largest (9.12ha) village-level vineyard. Due to its enviable location, directly below Bâtard and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru, this wine is often bottled separately.
Pascal shares these vineyards with several big names such as: Chavy-Chouet, Henri Prudhon, Coche-Dury, and Ramonet.
The vines are old, around 52 years on average, and are on a clay-limestone soil.
After pressing, the wine rests and stabilises in 228L barrels. This is also where the alcoholic and malolactic fermentation takes place, then the wine matures for a further 11 months in oak barrels. 5 months before bottling, the wine is transferred to tanks.
The result in superb! Balanced with plenty of finesse, tension and length on the palate. Notes of toasted nuts, minerality, and a buttery character are balanced by beautiful fruit and nice acidity.
