Productinformation
This Bourgogne Chardonnay from Domaine Michèle et Patrice Rion is an elegant and characterful white Burgundy, sourced from vineyards in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune. The vines are approximately 30 years old and, with yields of 40 to 45 hectolitres per hectare, produce concentrated grapes with a beautiful balance between ripeness and freshness. With an annual production of around 7,000 bottles, this wine clearly reflects the refined style and meticulous approach of the family estate.
The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and subsequently pressed as whole bunches. Both fermentation and ageing take place in used oak barrels, where the wine develops over a period of twelve months. The use of older oak adds structure and complexity without allowing pronounced oak aromas to overshadow the character of the Chardonnay. This preserves the natural expression of the fruit, creating a harmonious balance of roundness, freshness and minerality.
On the nose, the wine reveals delicate aromas of white flowers and fresh fruit, complemented by subtle notes of hazelnut, honey and butter. The palate is rounded and refined, with lively acidity providing tension and freshness. An elegant Bourgogne Chardonnay with a mineral finish.
