Saint-Romain lies just west of Auxey-Duresses at a relatively high elevation (350–400 metres), on the western slopes of the Côte d'Or. In general, the appellation is known for its freshness, finesse, minerality, and judicious use of oak.
Comte Senard’s Saint-Romain offers a refined and expressive interpretation of this profile. On the nose, notes of green and stone fruits alternate with floral accents. The oak ageing is elegant and well-integrated, contributing subtle toasty nuances and hints of fresh butter.
On the palate, the wine is taut and precise, with vibrant acidity and a long, mineral-driven finish. There is plenty of tension and freshness, supported by a well-defined structure. A textbook example of classic Saint-Romain.
